Abstract

Summary. Introduction. The problem of voluntary control of human behavior and motor activity is an important area of psychological and pedagogical research. Effective voluntary regulation is associated with a person’s ability to consciously orient oneself in a situation, assess its conditions and personal capabilities, and make timely and appropriate decisions concerning the mode of action.

Purpose. To theoretically substantiate the role and functional significance of content-oriented mobility as a component of personal mobility and an important prerequisite for voluntary control of behavior and motor activity of student youth.

Methods. The study used theoretical analysis, generalization and systematization of psychological and pedagogical literature, as well as comparative and structural-functional analysis of scientific approaches to voluntary regulation, volitional regulation, personal mobility, decision-making, and motor activity.

Results. The relationship between voluntary control, volitional regulation, and personal mobility was established. The content and functional significance of content-oriented mobility were determined. Its manifestation is influenced by internal factors, including motivation, practical experience, physical and theoretical preparedness, self-confidence, personal qualities, and emotional state, as well as external factors such as task complexity, activity conditions, time limitations, and the behavior of other participants. The importance of intellectual activity in analyzing situations, assessing personal capabilities, choosing an appropriate mode of action, and forming an internal action program was substantiated. The structure of content-oriented mobility was generalized as a sequence of interrelated processes: awareness of the goal, assessment of the situation and personal capabilities, analysis of possible actions, optimal decision-making, formation and implementation of an action program, self-control, self-assessment, and self-correction.

Originality. The functional role of content-oriented mobility in the transition from conscious assessment of a situation to decision-making, action programming, and voluntary performance of motor activity was clarified. Its significance as a mechanism ensuring conscious and purposeful choice of behavior was substantiated.

Conclusion. Content-oriented mobility is an important functional component of personal mobility that contributes to conscious choice of an appropriate mode of behavior and effective voluntary control of motor activity among student youth. Its development should be supported through pedagogical conditions that promote practical experience, adequate self-assessment, confidence, intellectual activity, independence, and volitional qualities.
