Abstract

Summary. The article is devoted to the study of the specific features of strategic planning in higher education institutions under conditions of dynamic transformations of the educational environment.

The role of strategic management as a tool for ensuring the adaptability and competitiveness of universities is substantiated, and the factors that determine the need for a systematic strategic approach are identified.

An algorithm of three-level strategic analysis is outlined, and its stages – initial, analytical, and result-oriented – are examined.

Special emphasis is placed on the importance of academic autonomy, digitalization, and resource diversification in the process of strategy formulation.

Current problems of the strategic development of higher education institutions and prospective directions for improving strategic management are identified.
