Summary. The article highlights the issues of theoretical analysis, clarification, and experimental verification of the methodological foundations for developing motor skills in students as a component (executive part) of personal mobility. The main approaches to developing motor skills among university students in the process of physical education are analyzed.
The principles that contribute to the development of students’ motor abilities during physical activity are identified. It is emphasized that learning a motor action should involve conscious attempts to reproduce its program.
The study examines the formation of an internal action program based on the analysis of external information.
It is proven that the learning process is an activity enriched with cognitive engagement. Recommendations are provided for developing motor skills based on mental processes such as attention, perception, memory, imagination, and thinking. A new functional system for solving specific motor tasks is designed. Levels of motor skill development are proposed.
The practical experience of applying methodological knowledge in the formation of motor skills of economics students during physical education is summarized. Further investigation of the factors influencing the formation of personal mobility in students – as the ability to consciously control their behavior and motor activity – is recommended. It is concluded that introducing new approaches and conditions promotes the development of personal mobility among university students.
