OUTDOOR GAMES AS A MEANS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION, PHYSICAL RECREATION, EDUCATIONAL AND PATRIOTIC WORK IN THE NEW UKRAINIAN SCHOOL

Summary. A historical background is presented on the origin and traditions of using outdoor games in different periods of human existence, existing criteria and methods for classifying outdoor games.
Advanced pedagogical experience in introducing outdoor games into the process of physical education to solve pedagogical, health-improving and educational tasks is analyzed.
The experience of physical education teachers of secondary education institutions in the city of Kremenchuk regarding the use of outdoor games in lessons and after-school hours was studied.
The questionnaire method revealed that outdoor games are most often used by teachers in different parts of the lesson (87% of respondents). 56% of teachers determine the amount of physical activity by external signs of fatigue.
All surveyed teachers use outdoor games to increase the emotionality of the lesson, and 87,5% use games to manage the emotional state of students after lessons that precede physical education in the schedule. 56,3% of teachers indicated the difficulty in choosing Ukrainian national games.Therefore, the authors have developed and recommended for use a table with a list of Ukrainian outdoor games for the development of various physical qualities.
