Summary. The article highlights the issue of forming civic identity in the context of the modern transformation of the educational environment of Ukraine. Local history and tourism activities are considered as an effective means of educating a socially active, patriotic personality capable of realizing one's own belonging to the national community.
Scientific approaches to interpreting the concepts of "civic identity", "local history activities", "tourism education", "competence approach" are analyzed. Effective forms of local history and tourism activities in the educational process are identified: educational and research projects, excursions, tourist trips, work in circles, cooperation with museums, public organizations. It is substantiated that such forms contribute not only to the deepening of knowledge about the native land, but also to the emotional and value-based assimilation of the experience of belonging to the national community.
It is emphasized that civic identity is a complex and dynamic phenomenon that is formed under the influence of educational practices, cultural factors and the personal experience of the student. The article determines that local history and tourism activities create favorable conditions for combining the cognitive, emotional and behavioral components of civic identity.
The analysis of literary sources allowed us to identify the most effective forms of tourist and local history work, including: educational and research projects, school museums, integrated lessons, local history expeditions, tourist competitions, participation in the work of clubs. It was established that these forms of activity enable students to better understand the cultural and historical heritage of their native land, to form a stable system of values, skills of social interaction and civic activity.
Particular attention is paid to the methodological principles of organizing the activity, as well as to factors that influence its effectiveness, in particular the level of training of pedagogical personnel, the involvement of local resources, and support from the community. It was concluded that local history and tourism activities integrated into the educational process are an important factor in the formation of the civic identity of students.
Prospects for further research include the development of models of systemic interaction between educational institutions, the parent community and public organizations in the field of civic education.
