The article examines the problems of implementation and use of an interdisciplinary approach in the professional training of future specialists. It is noted that the implementation of this approach is due to the current state of higher professional education and training, including the modernization process, which has currently moved from the stage of design and approval of regulatory requirements to the stage of practical implementation of the competency approach through the development of educational programs. It was noted that the insufficiency of the depth of interdisciplinary integration led to insufficient assimilation of a number of topics by students.
The use of an interdisciplinary approach in the professional training of future specialists is considered as part of the process of forming their professional competence through the implementation of connections with the disciplines of humanitarian, socio-economic, and natural-scientific training.
With a focus on effective learning, interdisciplinary connections, compatibility of educational programs determined by didactic goals and content are considered. It was found that with the competence approach, interdisciplinary connections allow transferring knowledge, skills and abilities from one field of science and professional activity to others.
It is proven that the interdisciplinary approach is aimed at the connection of disciplines, when contradictions in mastering ideas, methods and techniques of research between sciences are smoothed out and there is a complex use in professional activity of theory and practice obtained on the basis of studied disciplines.
Both significant advantages and problems arising from the use of an interdisciplinary approach are considered.
