Abstract

The article raises and reveals an important, yet poorly understood problem in educational and pedagogical sciences, namely the impact of higher education on economic dynamics.

The main processes within higher education, which should ensure the innovation of its nature and, as a result, the quality of education, are investigated. It is analyzed how the higher education system influences the productivity of the economy by means of the graduate employment rate. It is shown that the development of the knowledge economy and the growing importance of the educational services sector require qualitative changes in the conceptual foundations of professional training of new specialists.

The role of digital education, which forms the innovativeness and entrepreneurship of higher education students and the competencies that are most in demand by stakeholders, is noted.

A socio-economic analysis of the activities of universities in the USA and Europe is carried out. It is proved that it is necessary to develop curricula in partnership with stakeholders, communicate with local businesses, and participate in economic processes. It is shown that the development of the Ukrainian higher education system depends on the level of cooperation between universities and employers
