Summary. Introduction. The relevance of the study is driven by contemporary transformations in higher education, particularly the digitalization of the educational environment and the active implementation of distance learning, which significantly reshape traditional approaches to teaching humanities disciplines.
Purpose. The purpose of the article is to provide a theoretical justification and practical analysis of the features of teaching humanities disciplines in higher education under distance learning conditions, as well as to identify effective methods, forms, and tools for organizing the educational process in a digital environment.
Methods. The research is based on theoretical methods, including analysis, synthesis, and generalization of scientific literature, as well as a comparative analysis of modern approaches to distance learning. The study also includes an examination of pedagogical practices in teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language, English, and country studies.
Results. The findings indicate that distance learning significantly transforms the teaching of humanities disciplines by altering the nature of pedagogical interaction, strengthening the role of digital technologies, and increasing the importance of students’ independent work. It has been established that effective teaching in a distance format requires the integration of interactive methods, digital platforms, and multimedia tools. Particular emphasis is placed on maintaining student motivation, providing academic support, and fostering communicative and intercultural competencies. Practical examples demonstrate the effectiveness of online discussions, project-based learning, and virtual educational environments.
Originality. The scientific novelty of the study lies in a comprehensive analysis of the specific features of teaching humanities disciplines in distance learning conditions, with a particular focus on integrating digital technologies with communicative teaching methods and adapting them to the specifics of language and country studies courses.
Conclusion. It is concluded that distance learning is an integral component of modern higher education, requiring the continuous improvement of teaching methodologies, enhancement of educators’ digital competence, and the development of effective models of interaction in a digital educational environment. Particular importance is attributed to the integration of distance and traditional learning approaches to ensure the quality of humanities education.
