Summary. The concept of the New Ukrainian School provides for taking into account the individual characteristics of adolescents. It is based on the pedagogy of partnership, which relies on cooperation between the teacher, the student, and the parents. All participants in the educational process act as equal partners.
Introduction. The article, based on the systematization and analysis of literature data and advanced practical experience, reveals the feasibility of the comprehensive development of physical training and improvement of the physical fitness of younger adolescents in the process of physical education in the conditions of the New Ukrainian School (NUS). For teachers, this opens new opportunities: the development of authorial programs and the use of modern methods, strategies, and teaching tools according to students’ needs.
Purpose. The purpose of the research is to scientifically substantiate the features of the process of comprehensive improvement of the physical fitness of younger adolescents in the process of physical education in the conditions of the New Ukrainian School.
Methods. The research methods included analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, a pedagogical experiment, and methods of quantitative processing of the obtained data.
Results. One of the main tasks of the modern school is to take into account the individual characteristics of younger adolescents, preserve their physical and mental health, implement the pedagogy of partnership, and create a psychologically comfortable and safe educational environment. The average relative increase in overall physical fitness among boys in the experimental classes was 24%, while in the control classes it was 5.7%. Among girls, the increase was 26% and 6.73%, respectively. Thus, the statistical parameters that provide quantitative characteristics of two different training methodologies for third-grade students indicate the presence of a significant difference between them. Therefore, the identified characteristics of the two methodologies are explained not by random but by objective factors, in particular pedagogical ones.
Originality. The scientific novelty lies in substantiating the features of the process of comprehensive improvement of the physical fitness of younger adolescents in the process of physical education in the conditions of the New Ukrainian School.
Conclusion. The analysis of the literature revealed a significant interest of researchers in searching for new ways of purposeful implementation of the patterns of long-term adaptation to physical loads as one of the most important conditions for satisfying such human needs as increasing the productivity of motor activity and preserving and strengthening health. The rates and magnitudes of increases in the development of strength and endurance indicators in boys are higher than in girls, which indicates a more intensive development in boys of such manifestations of physical qualities as speed, speed-strength, and strength endurance in the zone of maximum intensity. The younger adolescent age is also favorable for the development of aerobic endurance. Thus, the results of the study allow us to conclude that purposeful and continuous influence on all motor functions of the body of boys and girls during adolescence contributes to comprehensive physical development and the improvement of physical qualities that are particularly sensitive to development at this age.
