Summary. The article analyzes the essence and significance of managing the territorial development of cultural and educational tourism. It emphasizes that in modern conditions, tourism in many countries of the world is one of the most dynamic sectors of the world economy, which contributes to the development of territories, job creation, and the formation of a positive image of regions. Effective management of the territorial development of cultural and educational tourism is a guarantee of sustainable growth of the regional economy and increasing the competitiveness of the national tourism product. The essence of the main concepts and terms of the problem under study is clarified: management, tourism, territorial development management, cultural and educational tourism. The names of scientists who studied the stated problem in their works are given.
The essence of the management of the territorial development of the tourism sector, in particular, of cultural and educational tourism facilities, is revealed. Management in the context of tourism is considered as a system of measures aimed at the rational use of resources to achieve economic, social, environmental and cultural and educational goals. In the field of tourism, it covers the planning, organization, motivation and control of the activities of tourism organizations, taking into account the specifics of the territory.
The main tasks, principles (sustainable development, decentralization, integration, innovation, complexity), tools and mechanisms (program-targeted planning, state and municipal incentives, mechanisms of public-private partnership, territory marketing, innovative technologies) of economic management of territorial development of tourism enterprises have been identified. In the context of global competition, it is important to ensure the integration of modern approaches to management, to involve innovative tools and to activate the participation of all stakeholders in the development of the tourism industry. Territories with an attractive tourist climate that combine aesthetic appeal (architecture, art, nature) with an educational function (development of worldview, intercultural competences, scientific knowledge) require further development. This contributes to their becoming centers of cultural and educational tourism, ensures economic development and preserves heritage.
