Abstract

Summary. Contemporary scientific approaches to organizing physical training in higher education institutions have been analyzed in the context of the renewed educational paradigm and social demands for health-preserving and competence based orientations. Under martial law, the increasing significance of physical training has been identified not only as a means of developing physical endurance, but also as a tool for fostering psychological resilience and readiness to act in crisis situations thus enhancing its strategic value within the higher education system.

Key principles for the conceptual reconsideration of the physical training system have been outlined, including individualization, variability, integration, technological adaptability, and a safety oriented approach.

The rationale for shifting toward person-centered approaches has been substantiated, emphasizing their role in shaping a sustainable value-based commitment to a healthy lifestyle and mobilizing students' internal resources under conditions of uncertainty. Existing regulatory, institutional, and methodological factors influencing the effectiveness of physical training in higher education institutions during wartime have been examined, taking into account such constraints as distance learning, resource shortages, and the transformed structure of the educational process.

An algorithm of pedagogical interaction among participants in the physical education process has been designed, with due regard to wartime realities. Practical mechanisms for implementing conceptual provisions into educational activities in higher education have been proposed, including the use of digital tools, simulation techniques, and blended learning formats.

The study’s findings have been summarized in the form of evidence-based recommendations aimed at improving the content, formats, and methods of physical training for students in wartime conditions. The introduction of a flexible, adaptive, and digitally supported system of physical education is recommended as a factor contributing to the comprehensive development of students’ personalities and their preparedness to act in the face of threats and social instability.

In conclusion, it is emphasized that the implementation of conceptual foundations for the modernization of physical training in higher education institutions under martial law increases its effectiveness, motivational appeal, and alignment with current challenges in education and society.
