Summary. Methodological approaches to the organization of scientific and research activities in the process of professional training of higher education applicants have been analyzed. It has been established that the integration of a methodological approach into the educational process contributes to the development of research competencies, analytical flexibility of thinking, and the establishment of the principles of academic integrity.
The main components of methodological training that provide a systemic vision of the structure and logic of scientific knowledge have been identified.
Typical difficulties encountered by applicants during the mastery of research activities are identified, in particular: insufficient level of methodological awareness, difficulties in forming hypotheses, choosing research methods and critical analysis of results. The need for implementing a comprehensive approach to the formation of the methodological culture of future specialists is substantiated.
The peculiarities of the implementation of methodological training in Ukrainian higher education institutions are analyzed. Domestic educational practices of forming scientific thinking are compared with foreign approaches.
Effective ways of activating the research activities of education seekers are proposed through the organization of problem-oriented learning, stimulation of independent information search, development of own scientific projects, and involvement in real scientific research work within the framework of university and interuniversity programs. Directions for improving educational programs are recommended, taking into account the conceptual significance of methodology as the foundation of professional training of a modern specialist. It is concluded that the methodology of science is not only a tool for research activities, but also a key factor in the professional development of the applicant in an innovative educational environment.
